New Strat System

We have made some changes to the strat system to make it simpler to understand and use.  The basics of the system remain mostly the same.  Some of the  things that are different are:

- All downtimes and effects are now measured in minutes instead of percentages.

- You receive a message telling you the downtime when you destroy an object.

- Cities no longer supply factories.  Instead, they now supply the HQ and towns.  Bombing the city buildings before taking out the HQ or any town buildings will result in a longer downtime.

- Towns can now be resupplied.

- Convoys no longer cut repair time when they reach their destination.  Instead, destroying a convoy will increase the downtime of whatever it is supplying by a fixed amount of minutes.

- Factories can add up to 2 hours of additional downtime to the objects they supply.

You can read about the details and values of the strat system here.  If we have to make any further value changes to the strat system, we'll be sure to keep the values on that page updated.

Another new tank

HTC is doing the gv'ers a flavor

October 11, 2011

We have updated the Panzer IV Ausf H for the next version of Aces High.  We will also be introducing a new earlier Panzer IV variant, the Ausf F.  The new variant can be outfitted as an F1 with the short barreled 75mm KwK37 L/24 or as an F2 with the more powerful KwK40 L/43.

Greebo made both of these skins.  The Ausf F skin is a tank from the 14th Panzer Division operating in Southern Russia in 1942.  The Ausf H paint scheme is from the 2nd Panzer Division based in France in the Spring of 1944.

C47 Getting Overhaul

Looks like there's a new update for the C47 coming soon.

C-47 Skytrain Screenshots

Sneak Preview

April 11, 2011

The Gooney Bird cometh! The C-47 Skytrain has undergone a shape update for the next version.  A big thanks to Greebo for making this skin.  The paint scheme of this aircraft is "Turf and Sport Special" from the 61st Troop Carrier Squadron of the 314th Troop Carrier Group as it appeared during the Arnhem operation.  This aircraft also flew paratrooper dropping sorties during operations at Normandy and the Rhine Crossing and later flew in the Berlin Airlift.

New King Tiger

King Tiger Tank Screenshots

July 20, 2011

Introducing the Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf B, a.k.a. Tiger II, King Tiger, Königstiger, Tiger B, Panzer VI Ausf B, Royal Tiger, the Lord Humongous, warrior of the wasteland, the ayatollah of rock-n-rolla!  Ok maybe not the last few but anything with that many names has got to be pretty bad- the Leroy Brown kind of bad.  And so it is.  It combines thick sloped armor with the most powerful main gun in the game to date, the 88mm KwK 43 L/71.  If it was marketed to civilians, it would have been called the 88mm Ultra Magnum.

While it may be the apex predator in tank to tank battles, don't leave your air superiority at home and remember "front toward enemy" doesn't just apply to claymore mines.

Salute to Greebo again for his wonderful work on the skin.  This paint scheme is from SS Panzer Abteilungen 103 based in Budapest Hungary 1945.  Coming soon to an arena near you.

M3 Halftrack Screenshots

Sneak Preview

April 7, 2011

Here are some development screenshots of the new and improved M3 Halftrack for the next version of Aces High.  In addition to carrying troops and supplies it will also have some new hangar loadouts.  The new loadouts will enable its use as the M3 GMC (Gun Motor Carriage) equipped with an M1897A4 75mm cannon firing armor piercing and high explosive ammunition.   The M3 GMC served as an early tank destroyer for the U.S. and saw service in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, the Phillipines and the Pacific.
